A big idea turns to reality
After two years of dedicated work as a cleaning consultant – and drawing on over 20 years of industry experience – our founder, Jason Atherton, recognised a seismic shift in the cleaning sector. Professionals were asking for more flexibility, cutting-edge solutions and genuine reliable service. In response, he created North West Cleaning Solutions: a company built to meet these evolving demands head-on.
Pastures New
Building on the solid groundwork of North West Cleaning Solutions, we transitioned into North West Cleaning Equipment (NWCE). Starting in a modest home garage, we soon outgrew our beginnings and moved into a dedicated facility in Wigan – complete with modern offices, a canteen, a fully equipped workshop and ample warehousing space. As demand for our sales, service and hire offerings soared, we welcomed our first two employees to oversee administration and service, marking the start of an exciting new chapter in our growth journey.
Our first big win!
After establishing key regional partnerships, we landed our first major national contract – providing comprehensive sales, service and support. This pivotal opportunity propelled us to expand our resources and take NWCE to the next stage of growth, solidifying our reputation for delivering tailored solutions to the professional cleaning industry.
A major shift & Flex-Hire is born
During the pandemic, industry shifts moved faster than ever. Cleaning professionals needed greater innovation, technology and flexibility – so we launched Flexi-Hire. It delivers the latest cleaning machines at a fixed monthly cost, with no upfront capital or finance. One price covers equipment, maintenance and replacements ensuring safe, efficient and profitable operations. Since its introduction, Flexi-Hire has experienced rapid growth, transforming how our clients acquire and manage their cleaning equipment.
